Amman Arab Students Visits the Royal Tank Museum in the Jordanian Armed Forces / Arab Army
College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University organized a scientific trip for students of the English Language and Translation Department to the Royal Tank Museum, under the supervision of Miss. Saja Al-Najjar and Mr. Tariq Warikat, and with the follow-up of the Dean of the College, Dr. Wafa Al-Eid, the Deputy Dean, and the Head of the Department of Basic Humanities and Scientific Sciences.
The trip aimed to educate students about the history of Jordan and the world through the Royal Tank Museum, out of Amman Arab University’s keenness to expand the horizons of University students and increase their knowledge about the history of tanks and military technology of the Jordanian Armed Forces/Arab Army. The visit included a narration of the origins of armor and the history of Jordan, which embodies its participation in several regional conflicts, for example the “Battle of Karameh,” the “Ten-Day War in 1967,” and the “Second Gulf War in 1990.” These wars witnessed the effective employment of these military technologies, as they played a vital role in defense and attack strategy,
This visit had a positive impact in enhancing the knowledge, understanding and awareness of the students by emphasizing the readiness and strength of the (Arab Army - Armor - Tank Brigades) and the military skill enjoyed by our valiant forces, which is increasing day after day.
It is noteworthy that the Royal Tank Museum is a national museum with international standards located in Amman, and it is considered the first specialized museum for tanks in the region. The museum consists of 15 exhibition halls containing 150 tanks. The tanks appear in the exhibition halls according to chronological order, starting from the inception of the armor up to the International World Hall. .
