College of Business at Amman Arab University Implements a Lecture: "Inflation and Unemployment" in Irbid Governorate
College of Business at Amman Arab University organized a lecture entitled "Inflation and Unemployment" for students of the Secondary Science School in Irbid Governorate, coping with the University’s commitment to social responsibility and interaction with the local community.
Dr. Ghassan Abu Matar, a faculty member at the College of Business/Finance Department, presented the reasons for the high rates of inflation and unemployment and explained the concepts related to them, their effects and types, in addition to the Phillips theory, which is an economic concept that explains the relationship between inflation and unemployment.
Dr. Abu Matar explained that stagflation occurs when the economy suffers from stagnant economic growth, high unemployment rates, and high inflation rates, and he stated that the appropriate solutions to mitigate their effects are to work to attract foreign and domestic investments to implement real projects that contribute to alleviating inflation rates and unemployment rates.
At the end of the lecture, Dr. Abu Matar answered the students’ inquires, and promotional leaflets about the University and its majors were distributed, and Professor Suhair Al-Balawneh presented a certificate of thanks to the lecturer.
