
President of Amman Arab University (AAU) Visits Iraqi Embassy to Discuss Prospects for Academic and Cultural Cooperation
Amman – Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He was received by His Excellency Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji, the Iraqi Ambassador, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, the Iraqi Cultural Advisor. The university delegation included Professor Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance; Mrs. Nadia Al-Qadimat, Assistant President for Financial and Administrative Affairs; Professor Dr. Khaled Bani Hamdan, a faculty member in the Faculty of Business; and Mr. Waddah Musmar, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department at Amman Arab University.
The meeting explored the educational opportunities the university provides for students and the efforts it exerts to enhance the teaching and learning process through its specializations and colleges, aiming for excellence. It also focused on embodying a spirit of leadership, distinction, and innovation among students, and preparing qualified, trained cadres that meet the requirements and needs of the Arab labor market.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Widyan presented the establishment of Amman Arab University, the available colleges and specializations, the academic programs and centers hosted by the university, and the educational opportunities available to students. He also highlighted the unique colleges and specializations recently launched by the university, such as the Technical College, the first College of Aviation Sciences in the Arab world, the College of Applied Medical Sciences, and specializations like Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, Bioinformatics, and Early Childhood Education at the bachelor's level. In addition, he mentioned qualitative master's programs such as Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs, Arbitration and Commercial Dispute Resolution, and Strategic Management. Dr. Al-Widyan emphasized the university's keenness to expand the horizons of its academic cooperation internationally and its constant endeavor to build bridges of partnership with higher education institutions worldwide, contributing to academic and research excellence and enhancing the university's presence and stature regionally and internationally.
For his part, His Excellency Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji expressed his honor at the visit of the President of Amman Arab University and the accompanying delegation, praising the university's pioneering role in developing higher education in Jordan and the region. He affirmed the Iraqi Embassy's keenness to strengthen academic cooperation ties with Amman Arab University, given its distinguished reputation and qualified academic staff. He pointed out the importance of removing obstacles for Iraqi students studying in Jordan and providing all forms of support that contribute to enhancing their educational journey. Ambassador Al-Barzanji also appreciated the efforts of Amman Arab University in launching qualitative programs and modern specializations that keep pace with the requirements of the regional and international labor market, making it a preferred destination for Arab students. He highlighted the depth of the fraternal relations binding the Jordanian and Iraqi peoples, noting that the education sector constitutes a vital bridge for enhancing and developing these relations towards broader horizons. Ambassador Al-Barzanji confirmed that Iraqi students in Jordan receive special follow-up and attention from the Embassy, as they represent a fundamental pillar in building the future and reconstructing Iraq with science and knowledge.
This visit reaffirms Amman Arab University's commitment to its vision of building bridges of cooperation with regional and international educational institutions and expanding student and academic exchange opportunities.
