As part of the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to enhancing student participation in professional events that refine their skills and prepare them for the job market, and upon the recommendation of Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the College, a number of students—namely Rahaf Abu Safi, Aseel Fawzi, Rana Al-Zuwayri, and Barāʼah Jawdat—participated in the introductory workshop for the First Pharmacists Forum in Jordan, organized by the Jordanian Healthcare Association.

The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept and objectives of the Forum, which serves as a distinguished platform bringing together pharmacists from various healthcare, academic, and industrial sectors. This initiative facilitates knowledge exchange and professional networking, contributing to the development of pharmacists’ skills and opening new horizons for them.

The workshop covered several key themes, including the importance of the Forum as a platform for convergence and experience sharing, its role in addressing challenges facing the pharmacy profession in Jordan, and the opportunities it offers students and recent graduates to explore diverse career paths in pharmacy such as clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, as well as research and development. The workshop also provided participants with the opportunity to interact directly with the Forum’s organizers and ask questions, deepening their understanding of the importance of engaging in such events to build professional networks and support their academic and career journeys.

In this regard, Dr. Abu Huwaij emphasized the importance of student participation in such initiatives, noting that it represents a practical step towards equipping them with the skills needed to integrate into the job market and opening avenues for professional development and active contribution to improving healthcare services.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the participating students expressed their satisfaction with the experience, affirming that it provided them with broader insights into the reality and future of the pharmacy profession and inspired them to leverage the opportunities offered by the Forum to develop their skills and engage in initiatives that support both the profession and the community.
