Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Azmi Mohafzah, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University participated in the ninth Arab Conference for Professional Training and its accompanying exhibition. The event was organized by the Jordanian Trainers Association, in collaboration with the Amman Chamber of Commerce, the Amman Chamber of Commerce Academy for Training, and the Arab Trainers Union. The conference was held over two days at the Amman Chamber of Commerce Theater in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, within the track of vocational and technical education and training as part of regional and international qualification frameworks, with the participation of distinguished researchers and academics from various universities and sectors.

The College of Information Technology was represented by Dr. Majdi Salameh, collage member in the Department of Computer Science, who took part in scientific and discussion sessions addressing key themes related to the future of vocational and technical education and its role as a primary pathway for lifelong learning. The sessions also explored successful institutional experiences in adopting international qualification frameworks, fostering partnerships, and enhancing regional and global cooperation. Dr. Salameh explained that the discussions focused on aligning educational outcomes with the evolving needs of the labor market and strengthening dialogue between academic and economic sectors.

Dr. Salameh also noted that the conference featured a specialized educational exhibition that provided participating institutions the opportunity to highlight their leading programs and initiatives, including internationally accredited programs such as Pearson and other global providers. The conference witnessed a broad presence of scholars, researchers, university representatives, public and private sector leaders, and professional trainers, reflecting the growing interest in the role of education and training in advancing the knowledge economy, innovation, and sustainable development.

In this context, Dr. Rami Sihwail, Dean of the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University, emphasized the college’s commitment to encouraging faculty participation in specialized conferences and scientific forums. He highlighted that such platforms play a vital role in strengthening academic networking and the exchange of expertise with specialists and experts at both the regional and international levels. Dr. Sihwail added that these engagements open broad opportunities for faculty members to remain informed on the latest global best practices and emerging trends in vocational and technical education and training—contributing directly to the development of curricula, academic programs, and teaching strategies in line with international accreditation standards and the evolving demands of the labor market.

Amman Arab University’s participation in the conference reflects its firm dedication to supporting the ecosystem of education, training, and innovation, and to strengthening collaboration with policymakers, leaders in vocational and technical education, experts in training, representatives of industry and business sectors, international and regional organizations, accreditation bodies, and innovators. The conference served as a genuine bridge linking educational innovation with workforce development needs by bringing together leaders in education, training, and the private sector in a single forum—driving vocational and technical education toward new horizons that meet future aspirations.
