Aviation Science Students and the IEEE AESS Society at Amman Arab University (AAU) Participate in “Space Science and Technology” Training
As part of Amman Arab University’s (AAU) commitment to knowledge-sharing and collaboration with leading Jordanian institutions in the fields of space and astronomy, students from the College of Aviation Science recently participated in a specialized training workshop titled “Introduction to Space Science and Technology.”
The event was a joint effort between the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center and the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) chapter at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, with participation from AAU’s own AESS student members.
The workshop aimed to expand the students’ scientific knowledge and technical skills in space science, helping them broaden their academic horizons and connect theoretical concepts to modern, real-world applications. Consisting of ten training sessions, the program provided a high-level educational platform that allowed AAU students to stay current with the latest advancements in space technology.
The curriculum covered specialized scientific topics, including:
• Electromagnetic radiation and its interaction with the atmosphere and the Earth.
• Space weather phenomena and the impact of solar activity on technical systems.
• An overview of satellite technology and its practical applications in remote sensing and telecommunications.
AAU’s involvement in this event aligns with the university’s vision to empower students through high-quality external training and collaborative partnerships. These opportunities allow students to exchange academic expertise and sharpen their skills in aerospace technology, keeping them in step with national efforts to strengthen scientific capabilities in this field
