Architecture Engineering Students at Amman Arab University (AAU) Discuss Graduation Projects that Keep Pace with Digital Transformation and Reflect Community Identity

As part of the College of Engineering’s efforts at Amman Arab University to achieve its vision and mission of preparing distinguished engineering cadres capable of keeping pace with scientific and technological developments and serving the community, and in implementation of the directives of University President Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, and under the supervision of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the College of Engineering, students of the Architecture Engineering Department discussed their graduation projects. The projects were supervised by Prof. Dr. Hanan Ahmad, a faculty member at the College of Engineering, and attended by academic and administrative staff members and students of the college.

The examination committee, composed of Dr. Farouq Yaghmour and Eng. Bashar Al-Bitar, praised the advanced scientific and intellectual level of the presented projects, commending the great efforts exerted by the students in achieving the course outcomes with high efficiency and competence. The graduation projects reflected advanced scientific approaches that align with the needs of practical reality, focusing on themes of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, entrepreneurial and innovative projects, as well as projects concerned with identity and heritage and serving the local community. This reflects the students’ awareness of the role of architecture in supporting sustainable development and responding to contemporary challenges.

The students presented their projects under the following titles:

• An Interactive Center for Documenting Palestinian Resilience “Journey of Resilience” by student Enas Ramadan.

• A Multidisciplinary Center for Digital Transformations and Artificial Intelligence by student Dana Attari.

• The Arab Incubator for Innovative Projects and Entrepreneurship by student Sara Shwaikani.

• A Multi-Use Urban Corridor by student Abeer Zahra.

• A Complex for the Preservation and Revitalization of Jordanian Heritage by student Mohammad Al-Soufi.

These distinguished projects witnessed fruitful interactive discussions between the students and the examination committee, during which constructive feedback was provided, praising the efforts exerted by the students and emphasizing the importance of continuously developing ideas to meet local community needs and enhance sustainable solutions. These discussions come as part of the College of Engineering’s strategy at Amman Arab University to support creativity and innovation in the field of architecture and to provide an educational environment that motivates students to face present and future challenges.

At the conclusion of the discussions, the examination committee expressed its pride in the outstanding level of the students’ projects, affirming the Architecture Engineering Departments and the College of Engineering’s commitment to supporting creativity and innovation, and strengthening the link between academic education and community needs, contributing to the graduation of qualified architects capable of effectively contributing to the labor market and national development.
