The College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University organized the second edition of the Ball Collector Robot competition as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance students' practical skills and foster technological innovation. The event, held in a dynamic and competitive atmosphere, reflects the university's commitment to preparing students for rapid advancements in the tech sector.

Under the supervision of Dr. Majdi Salama from the College of Information Technology and Engineer Yaqob Al-Qarain from the Robotics and AI Incubator, participating students underwent rigorous training exceeding 20 hours. Four teams, each comprising three students, competed in designing and programming intelligent robots capable of efficiently collecting balls while overcoming various technical challenges.

The competition featured two main stages designed to test different skill sets. The initial round required teams to compete head-to-head in collecting the maximum number of balls within a time limit while navigating obstacles. The second stage implemented special judging criteria to evaluate individual team performance under more complex conditions.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Awn, Head of the Data Science and AI Department, emphasized the competition's role in developing students' technical abilities and creative problem-solving skills. "These initiatives are crucial for preparing our students to compete at both national and international levels," he stated.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Rami Sahwil, Dean of the College of Information Technology, highlighted how such events complement academic learning by strengthening teamwork, innovation, and practical application of knowledge. "We're committed to providing opportunities that bridge classroom theory with real-world technological challenges," Dr. Sahwil added.

The competition represents one of several extracurricular initiatives the university has implemented to enhance students' readiness for the evolving demands of the technology sector. Through such hands-on experiences, Amman Arab University continues to equip its students with the skills needed to become leaders in data science and artificial intelligence fields.
