Amman Arab University (AAU) Signs Cooperation Agreement with Royal Hospital to Train and Qualify Faculty of Pharmacy Students

Amman – As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation bridges with national and international healthcare sector institutions, Amman Arab University signed a cooperation agreement with Royal Hospital. The agreement aims to train and qualify students from the Faculty of Pharmacy in an advanced professional environment that keeps pace with the latest developments in the healthcare sector.

The agreement was signed by the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, representing Amman Arab University, and by Dr. Mohammad Al-Qaz'a, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Royal Hospital. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ayman Al-Batoush and Dr. Salem Khtatneh, members of the Board of Directors at Royal Hospital, along with Dr. Fadia Atari, Head of Medical and Pharmaceutical Purchases at the hospital. From the University, attendees included Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, Head of the Faculty's Training Committee, and Mr. Anas Kaso, Assistant Director of the Media and Public Relations Department at Amman Arab University.

This agreement falls within the framework of Amman Arab University's strategy to link theoretical academia with practical application by establishing qualitative partnerships with specialized medical institutions. This provides its students with advanced field training opportunities in a professional work environment, enabling direct engagement with medical and pharmaceutical staff and equipping them with the practical experience necessary to competently integrate into the local, regional, and international job markets.

Dr. Al-Widyan emphasized that cooperation with a prestigious institution like Royal Hospital is a strategic step aligned with the University's vision for leadership and excellence. He pointed out that practical training is a fundamental pillar in preparing Faculty of Pharmacy students and that such partnerships open wide horizons for them to develop their clinical and professional skills in specialized fields such as pharmaceutical care, pharmacovigilance, and clinical pharmacy. He also noted that the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University continues its journey in launching modern academic programs and obtaining prestigious international accreditations, reflecting the University's commitment to providing quality education that conforms to global standards. In this context, he highlighted that the Master's program in Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs, offered by the Faculty, hosts a selection of international professors and experts from Britain and Malaysia, giving students the opportunity to learn from leading global experiences and enhancing the program's stature regionally and internationally. He also mentioned that the University has recently launched the Bioinformatics specialization within the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, which is the first of its kind among both public and private Jordanian universities and the second in the Arab region, keeping pace with global trends in integrating technology with medical sciences and meeting the growing demand for this vital specialization.

For his part, Dr. Al-Qaz'a expressed his pride in this cooperation, affirming that Royal Hospital, with its specialized medical staff and advanced equipment, is a leading institution in providing healthcare in Jordan and the region. He indicated that this agreement will contribute to preparing a generation of pharmacists who possess the knowledge and practical skills qualifying them to compete in the job market. He added that Royal Hospital places special emphasis on medical and pharmaceutical training, considering it a fundamental pillar for developing the health sector and ensuring the sustainability of excellence in medical service provision.

Dr. Abu Huwaij, in turn, affirmed that this agreement represents a qualitative addition to the Faculty's practical training programs, granting students a unique opportunity to learn within an advanced practical environment in a hospital renowned for its distinguished reputation regionally.

This contributes to refining their skills, broadening their perspectives, and enhancing their readiness to integrate into the job market with high competence.

The agreement stipulates providing practical training opportunities for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University within the facilities of Royal Hospital, under joint academic and medical supervision. It also includes cooperation in organizing specialized workshops and joint programs in the fields of pharmaceutical care, pharmacovigilance, and clinical pharmacy, thereby enhancing students' capabilities and enabling them to contribute effectively to the development of the healthcare sector and community service.
