Amman Arab University (AAU) Joins Regional Collaboration in Pharmaceutical Education in Partnership with International Pharmaceutical Federation

In line with Amman Arab University's efforts to expand cooperation with healthcare sector institutions at the national and international levels, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, participated in the launch event of the FIP–EMRO Regional Pharmacy Centre of Excellence (FIP–EMRO Pharm CoE).

The event was organized by the Jordan Pharmacists Association in partnership with UNESCO and the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), with the participation of deans of pharmacy faculties in Jordan.

The meeting included an introduction to the UNITWIN program, a joint initiative between UNESCO and FIP, which aims to enhance academic and professional cooperation and support student, research, and knowledge exchange among pharmaceutical education institutions in the region. The role of the Regional Centre of Excellence in elevating the standard of pharmaceutical education, developing competencies, and promoting scientific research in modern pharmaceutical practices was also highlighted.

During her participation, Dr. Abu Huwaij signed a Letter of Intent on behalf of Amman Arab University, formally marking the university's agreement to join the regional collaboration under the Centre of Excellence. This step strengthens international academic and professional partnerships, ensures student and expertise exchange, and fosters pharmaceutical innovation in the region. It also contributes to developing academic curricula and equipping graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy with high-level skills and competencies that not only meet the needs of the local job market but also enable them to lead and compete regionally and internationally in the fields of healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

It is noteworthy that the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University in such initiatives is part of its strategy to develop academic programs in alignment with global quality and excellence standards. This embodies the University's commitment to supporting continuous development in education, research, and community service. This distinguished participation also underscores the University's dedication to enhancing its international presence by joining global academic cooperation networks and supporting the development of educational programs according to the latest international standards, thereby contributing to elevating the University's reputation and the competitiveness of its graduates at the regional and global levels.
