Amman Arab University (AAU) Organizes a Scientific Training Workshop Titled: "Sustainable Development"

Affirming its commitment to enhancing student awareness of sustainable development concepts and their role in serving society, the College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University, in cooperation with the Dean of Student Affairs, organized a training workshop titled "Sustainable Development" for students enrolled in the "Volunteer Work and Community Development" course. The workshop was presented by Dr. Lina Al-Jarrah, a faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Sherren Abu Ghazaleh, Director of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development and a faculty member in the Faculty of Law.

The event covered key topics related to the concept, goals, and dimensions of sustainable development, and its role in balancing economic growth with the preservation of natural resources. It included introductory videos on these topics and highlighted the importance of involving youth in sustainable initiatives and raising community awareness on environmental and social responsibility issues.

Dr. Al-Jarrah emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability concepts into university activities and practical life, noting its key role in instilling a sense of community responsibility in students. Dr. Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the importance of supporting national and institutional efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, stressing that strengthening partnerships between universities and community organizations effectively contributes to comprehensive and sustainable development. The workshop featured interactive discussions and practical examples on the role of volunteer work in supporting sustainable development, with notable engagement from the attending students.
