Saudi Cultural Attaché in Jordan: “Amman Arab University” is Distinguished by the Educational Quality

Amman - President of Amman Arab University, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, received in his office His Excellency the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Issa bin Fahd Al-Rumaih, in the presence of: Professor. Ismail Yamin, Assistant of the President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, Assistant to the President for Planning and Quality Assurance, and Mrs. Nadia Al-Qadimat, Assistant of the President for for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Wafaa Al-Eid, Dean of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Educational and Psychological Sciences, and Dr. Miteb Al-Otaibi, a faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences. Saudi Cultural Attache is represented by Professor. Muhammad Al-Shammari, Director of Academic Affairs, Mr. Salem Al-Dosari, Head of the Financial Affairs Department, and Dr. Mishal Al-Huwaiti, Director of Public Relations. It is worth mentioning that aspects of cooperation were discussed between the two parties through accepting numbers of Saudi students to study at the University, and opening majors that keep pace with the needs of the Saudi labor market.

Prof. Al-Widyan presented the history and establishment of Amman Arab University, which was established as the first private Jordanian university to grant master’s and doctoral degrees. He stated that the University is keen to overcome the obstacles encountering Arab and foreign students through the open-door policy in addition to attracting more students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that the University works within the standards of Jordanian higher education through lecture times and other standards that aim to enhance the quality of the alumni and the university. He stated that the University is working thoughtfully to develop majors within the framework of Amman Arab University’s plan to develop majors that meet the needs of the growing labor market locally and regionally and enhance job opportunities.

In turn, Dr. Al-Rumaih praised the principle of cooperation between the attaché and the University through student registration and the quality of education, and stated that there are strong ties between the two kingdoms, whether geographical or historical ties that have been extended for a long time and at the highest levels by the two leaderships, and in terms of education. On the other hand, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is famous in distinguished universities in teaching, especially mentioning Amman Arab University, noting the importance of the role of Jordanian universities in working in the Saudi market in terms of developing majors that will meet its needs, he also praised the distinguished efforts made by Amman Arab University to make the education process successful for its students and to improve the distinguished and advanced academic outcomes by adopting international standards, including international classifications and accreditations.
