Amman Arab University participates in the Workshop ‘increasing the employment of persons with disabilities’
Amman Arab University participated in the workshop "increasing the employment of persons with disabilities", which was held by the International Labor Organization in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Ms. Shadha Alrabee, the head of the Department of Counceling and Psychological Services, represented the university in this workshop.
The workshop aimed to increase the employment of persons with disabilities, raise the awareness and understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities, engage them in the society, provide them with appropriate job opportunities and enhance knowledge and skills needed to design and implement policies that aid their employment.
During the workshop, attention was given to the legislative framework related to the work of persons with disabilities. The workshop tackled the classification of disabilities, the challenges facing each category in the work environment, and the possibility of providing facilitations to enable the persons with disabilities to perform their job duties effectively.
Special platforms have been identified to serve the employer and the job applicant by providing vacancies through the Ministry of Labor and the Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities.
