The importance of information technology cannot be stressed enough as it continually influences our lives on daily basis and our department is dedicated to providing the best educators in the field and the necessary knowledge our students need to meet the job market.

To achieve this, we have a group of qualified and distinguished Professors who are committed to the field. We also provide fully equipped modern computer laboratories and halls. Furthermore, we enrich the university library with the latest books and publications.

The faculty also makes all efforts to develop curricula and study plans that keep pace with scientific developments in order to achieve the goal of Amman Arab University in producing the  leaders of tomorrow.

Based on these overall objectives, our faculty surveyed the market needs and offered specializations that meet these needs. The Majors we offer include mobile computing and software engineering as well as information technology.

About the Program

The Bachelor's Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence aims to prepare qualified competencies in the field of data science and artificial intelligence that meet the needs of the local and regional labor market, capable of completing distinguished scientific and practical projects in a way that contributes to developing the technical infrastructure, strengthening the knowledge economy, and developing and improving performance in local community institutions.

It offers an intensive and flexible educational program in the field of data science, artificial intelligence and its applications to prepare qualified and influential professional cadres in this field. The program also seeks to contribute to providing theoretical and applied knowledge through teaching, training, and conducting scientific research, and to play an effective and influential role in promoting the use of data science and artificial intelligence in society.

The launch of this program comes in response to the requirements of the labor market and the need of academic institutions and local and regional companies for a qualified and trained workforce in the field of data science, artificial intelligence, computers and information technology, with the aim of preparing specialized leaders in this field who are able to contribute to business development in various institutions and facilities and to interact and adapt in the field.

Interconnected and intertwined fields between computer engineering, computer science, and information and communications technology. This qualification combines two main areas of computer science, artificial intelligence and data science, in a complementary way. Artificial intelligence and data science are two complementary fields of computing and multiple systems. Artificial intelligence focuses on applying artificial intelligence algorithms to data science and implementing statistical techniques using intelligent algorithms. Jobs in this field are among the most attractive jobs at the present time, and there is an urgent need to fill the gap necessary for the success of the work of institutions in all economic, health, educational, social, and other sectors.

This need became evident due to the urgent need to exploit big data of all kinds. At the local level, labor market indicators indicate that there is a need for graduates specialized in the field of data science and artificial intelligence who have the ability to analyze big data using artificial intelligence algorithms in various state institutions.

Excellence in teaching, learning, and scientific research to contribute to meeting the needs of the labor market and serving the community in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the local, regional, and international levels.

Preparing qualified and competitive student competencies in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and research capabilities to meet the demands of the labor market and the needs of local community institutions, in accordance with local and international quality standards.

Program Mission:

Preparing graduates with deep knowledge in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence by providing a conducive environment to achieve excellence in education and learning. They will have a local, regional, and international presence, capable of completing distinguished scientific and practical projects that contribute to the development of technical infrastructure, enhance the knowledge economy, and improve performance in local community institutions. They will possess a drive for continuous learning and the ability to keep up with advancements.


Educational Program Objectives:

  1. Acquiring the necessary theoretical and practical skills and knowledge in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
  2. Gaining professional competencies and practicing their profession with confidence and the ability to compete locally and regionally.
  3. Continuing learning and professional development amidst technological changes.
  4. Working effectively within teams, taking on ethical and professional responsibilities, and understanding community needs.

Graduates of the program will have the ability to:

1. Analyzing complex computing problems and applying computing, Artificial Intelligence principles, and Data Science to find appropriate solutions.

   1.2    (Skill): Analyze complex computing problems and apply computing principles and related disciplines to identify solutions.
2. (Skill): Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a specific set of computing requirements in the context of the program's specialization.
3. (Skills): Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
4.  Recognizing professional responsibilities and making informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
    4.1    (Knowledge): Professional responsibilities, ethical theories, and legal and social issues.

6. Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
