Dean Message

It is with great pleasure that I, along with the faculty and administrative staff, welcome you to the website of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University. We hope this platform serves as a valuable resource, providing you with all the information you may inquire regarding the field of aviation.

The Faculty of Aviation Sciences was established in collaboration with the Royal Jordanian Air Academy during the 2017/2018 academic year, and later with the Mideast Aviation Academy in 2020/2021. The Faculty offers the following distinguished programs under the Aircraft Maintenance Department:

1. Bachelor of Aircraft Maintenance (B1.1): Launched in 2017-2018, this pioneering program is the first of its kind in the Arab world to confer a bachelor's degree, requiring the completion of 137 credit hours.

2. Bachelor of Avionics (B2): With 137 credit hours, this program commenced in the 2022-2023 academic year. It stands as the first and only program of its kind in the Arab world.

3. Bachelor of Aviation Management: A recently introduced program for the 2025-2026 academic year, comprising 132 credit hours. This is the first such specialization in the Kingdom.

The bachelor's programs in the Faculty of Aviation Sciences are designed to foster creative, professional, and entrepreneurial thinking through modern teaching methodologies that seamlessly integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application. These programs aim to empower our graduates to compete effectively in the global aviation job market and to qualify them for international aircraft maintenance licenses from esteemed bodies such as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (JCARC).

In line with Amman Arab University's commitment to securing international accreditations and licenses for all its specializations, the Faculty of Aviation Sciences has recently achieved the following prestigious milestones:

• Accreditation and membership by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI): The Faculty has been awarded a five-year AABI accreditation (2025-2030) for its Bachelor of Aircraft Maintenance program, which has been offered since 2017-2018. This achievement places the Faculty first in the Arab world and eighth globally. This accreditation recognizes the Faculty as a training institute that meets AABI's rigorous quality standards and demonstrates the program's success in achieving learning outcomes for an internationally recognized degree.

• EASA Part 147 Training Organization Approval: In 2022-2023, the Faculty received approval from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency as a training organization and examination center for both the Aircraft Maintenance (B1.1) and Avionics (B2) programs, after fulfilling all the stringent requirements for these specializations.

Looking ahead, the Faculty's administration is committed to obtaining further prestigious American and European accreditations for its remaining programs as they become eligible. We also aspire to launch a Master's program in Aircraft Maintenance—the first of its kind in the Kingdom. These initiatives are central to our mission of advancing our programs into top positions in global rankings, in fulfillment of the University's vision, and to better serve our students by enhancing their career opportunities and contributing to sustainable development.
