
Amman Arab University (AAU) Ranks Among Top 100 Arab Universities in QS2026, Advancing 17 Positions to Secure 93rd Place Regionally
Marking a significant milestone in its steadfast journey toward quality, excellence, and continuous development, and reaffirming its position as a leading institution in higher education both locally and regionally, Amman Arab University has achieved a new accomplishment in its pioneering record of academic and research excellence. The University has been ranked 93rd among Arab universities in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026, advancing 17 positions compared to last year's ranking.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, emphasized that this progress reflects the dedicated efforts of the academic and administrative staff, who work with a team spirit to foster an advanced educational environment aligned with future requirements. He added that qualifying students, equipping them with future skills, supporting scientific research, and developing academic competencies represent the core pillars of the University's strategy for continuous development and improvement. He indicated that Amman Arab University dedicates all its resources to achieving its strategic goals and enhancing its academic and research partnerships at the regional and global levels, expressing his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the University's faculty and administrative staff for their efforts and dedication. He affirmed that this achievement is the fruit of collective work and the unified team spirit that always characterizes the Amman Arab University family.
For his part, Professor Dr. Hussam Al-Hamad, Vice President of Amman Arab University for Planning and Quality Assurance, noted that the University achieved outstanding performance across several ranking indicators. It ranked second in the Arab world in the "Citations per Paper" indicator, achieving a score of 99.9%—an accomplishment that reflects the robustness and impact of the University's scientific output regionally and internationally. The University also ranked 23rd in the Arab world in the "Web Impact" indicator, confirming its active presence in the digital academic space. Furthermore, the University excelled in the "Faculty with a PhD" indicator, highlighting the qualifications and high competence of its academic staff. Additionally, it achieved 41st place in the "International Students" indicator, signifying the diversity and cultural openness that characterize its university environment. Amman Arab University was also ranked among the top 100 Arab universities in both "Academic Reputation" and "Employer Reputation," solidifying its position among the most prominent higher education institutions locally and regionally.
It is worth noting that the QS Arab Region University Rankings are based on a set of criteria including Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Teaching Quality, the volume and impact of Research, and International Outlook.
