By: Prof. Dr. Younes Megdadi
A long talk has been during years ago about the general situation of universities, especially in light of the developments and challenges that have occupied university administrations and consumed most of their time in how to deal with them in order to respond to them with caution, out of everyone’s concern for the so-called academic reputation, which is one of the most important international standards in education, considering academic reputation reflects the smallest details of the progress achieved by universities in their various academic tracks, not to mention its direct connection to the inputs and outputs of universities and the structural construction of the academic body. Ultimately, the labor market will be the judge of the results.
Naturally that the process of building the academic reputation of universities is one of the responsibilities of university presidents, as they are the actual compass in managing the educational and learning process and the academic leaders from the first and second grades, but for many reasons known to all, where we find the academic body of universities is still suffering from a number of outstanding issues that it may make it difficult for university presidents to chart the path of academic reputation in the way that everyone aspires to.
Academic reputation has become one of the main indicators expressing the performance of universities, one of the main priorities according to the experiences of international universities, which have led them to what they are and occupy them among advanced centers in university education globally. within advanced centers compared to similar universities in the world.
In fairness, as we notice that the magnitude of the challenges facing the presidents of our universities and the burdens arising from those challenges, which have already preoccupied them with our appreciation for their appreciated efforts, but the results are still below the ambition and aspiration that everyone expects from our universities, which we are proud of. In light of this, we believe that there is an urgent need that requires a comprehensive review of academic reputation measures based on evaluation criteria and their relationship to the future of the educational process of universities, and giving academic reputation priority in its future policies and directions accompanied by strategic thought stocked with experience and reading the future to enable it to translate academic reputation measures in a tangible and elaborate way to invest in a theater Competitiveness, evidence and evidence abound for universities around the world and for decades they have pushed themselves to race towards them due to their importance and now they are at the forefront of advanced positions globally.
Everyone is looking forward to making a quantum leap in our universities while moving away from stereotypical thinking and showy academic performance, so that everyone can touch what is new within indications that there is a real change in the thinking of academic university administrations and leaders, and that we do not remain in the scenario of miss choice which unfortunately does not end. So, universities can build an academic reputation with its dimensions and objectives as a guarantee that pushes universities towards competitiveness and a future marked by success in line with the aspirations of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the great son of Al-Hussein and his faithful crown prince, His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein, may God protect and preserve them, and the aspirations of generations and their academic future.
