Faculty of Psychological and Educational Conducts Workshop on Bullying and Alternatives to Punishment
Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University held a workshop titled “Bullying and Alternatives to Punishment” at Al-Bab Al-Aali Academy in Irbid. Targeted teachers and educators.The workshop was led by Dr. Khuloud Al-Masa’eidin, a faculty member at the university.
Dr. Al-Masa’eidin delved into the issue of bullying, exploring its nature as a social and psychological challenge. She discussed its different forms, underlying causes, warning signs, and possible interventions. Additionally, she presented alternative approaches to punishment, encouraging educators to adopt effective strategies for addressing behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
Concluding the workshop, Dr. Al-Masa’eidin urged parents and teachers avoid violent disciplinary methods, such as physical punishment, and instead focus on fostering a supportive and understanding environment. She highlighted the critical role of school counselors in safeguarding the mental health of children and adolescents and underscored the importance of upholding moral and religious principles that instill confidence and alleviate fears.
