Amman Arab University Ranked Fourth in the Annual Academic Competition “Hakeem” of Innovation in Medical Information
Amman Arab University has made a great achievement by ranking fourth in the annual Academic competition “Hakeem” of Innovation in Medical Information organized by Electronic Health Solutions Company. The competition aims to innovation in the field of medical information in order to enhance the level of medical care to comply with the highest standards of quality.
250 creative ideas have participated in the competition from various institutions and universities so that the competition went through two stages. Stage one: Choosing the best 25 teams after accurate classification. Stage one, the candidates provided an illustrative information of their ideas and after inclusive evaluation the university ranked 13 amongst the best ideas, following that the university team took the fourth position of innovative ideas.
The team of Amman Arab University participated under the name “Hear me” which includes students from the College of Computer Sciences and College of Pharmacy. Ahmed Rashid, student studying data science and artificial intelligence, Anas Abu Hantash, a specialist in cybersecurity, Faculty of Pharmacy, Maria Eid, and two students from the University of Jordan, Christine Shammas and Ruba Barakat. The team presented a unique project that reflects creativity in the area of medical technology, for the to benefit of society from the deaf and dumb with the aim of fostering quality of health care and health services.
Dr. Hussam Alhammad, the dean of college of computer science and informatics stressed the importance of participation in these competitions, aiming at supplying a high-quality education that goes in parallel with the requirements of the labor market. Dr. Hussam Alhammad stated that the college is constantly working to develop its curricula and update its study plans to comply with the recent developments in the fields of computer science and information technology.
Prof. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the college of Pharmacy, Amman Arab University, stated that collaboration between various scientific disciplines at the university was integral part of this unique success. She added that such cooperation will contribute to providing creative and inclusive solutions to intricate challenges in the medical field, and she emphasized that this approach allows reach more effective results, leading to improving the quality of health care.
This participation in the competition comes within the strategy of Amman Arab University, aiming at boosting entrepreneurship and creativity among students and community members. The university stresses commitment to providing an educational environment that supports development and creativity. In addition, The University encourages effective solutions to the challenges encountering various sectors, especially the healthcare, in order to comply with international developments.
