Amman Arab University Participates in a Workshop and Wins First Place Among all Public and Private Jordanian Universities

Amman Arab University participated in the training workshop held by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, in partnership with the British Council and the University of Strathclyde, which was held under the title “E-Learning and Blended Learning in Higher Education Institutions,” at the Hilton Amman Hotel on Monday, the 27th. /5/2024.

The workshop was opened by Professor. Dhafer Al-Sarayrah, Chairman of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, in Jordan, and in the presence of Mr. Alex Lambert, Executive Director of the British Council in Jordan. Prof. Al-Sarayrah spoke about the mechanism of building capabilities and competencies in the field of designing blended learning and e-learning programs in Jordanian universities, pointing out that with the development of the educational landscape, educational institutions around the world are seeking to find effective ways to integrate technology into their curricula. This workshop provides a valuable opportunity for Jordanian higher education institutions to benefit from the expertise of leading experts from the University of Strathclyde on the latest trends and best practices in the design of blended learning, fully e-learning, and evaluation methods for this type of education, as well as exploring innovative methods in teaching and learning that can enhance Engaging students and improving learning outcomes, pointing to the importance of this workshop in enhancing the quality of education, encouraging innovation within our educational institutions, and providing the opportunity for faculty members and administrators in Jordanian universities to develop their skills in blended learning, e-learning, and designing various curricula in line with what is practiced globally in terms of development and innovation.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Dhafer Al-Sarayrah, Chairman of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions,, stressed that the discussions and exchange of experiences that will be shared in the workshop will be influential in shaping the future of blended learning and full distance learning in higher education institutions in Jordan, and in enhancing the capabilities of Jordanian universities in In the field of e-learning and blended education, it will also contribute to achieving the goals of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, and ensuring its quality in improving the quality of education and developing the skills of graduates in Jordanian universities to be able to compete in the global labor market.

A team from Amman Arab University participated in the training workshop, which included: Dr. Muhammad Nassar / Director of the E-Learning Center, Dr. Sharaf Al-Zoubi, representing the faculty members, Mr. Osama Abdel Razek from the E-Learning Center, and Miss Dina Qtouri from the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance.

The workshop included working on building a model and framework for curriculum design proposed and discussed by each university according to its vision and practices in curriculum design. Amman Arab University team worked on designing and building the best model among public and private universities, and the team was honored at the end of the workshop.

In turn, Dr. Muhammad Nassar, Director of the E-Learning Center at Amman Arab University, stressed that the University’s victory in first place in building the model and framework for designing curricula is a reflection of real practices taking place on the ground at Amman Arab University when designing its curricula to keep pace with best practices in this framework.

Amman Arab University, based on its responsibility to continuously improve the quality of education and develop the skills of its students, its team is committed to completing the training program that consists of this workshop and a series of (6) virtual sessions via Microsoft Teams remote video communication technology, which will begin as of 6/27/ 2024 and will continue until September of this year, with a session every two weeks. In the last session, which will be in person, Amman Arab University will present the results of the project that it worked on during these sessions, which is designing educational content via the Internet.

It is noteworthy that at the conclusion of this training program, certificates will be distributed to the participants enabling them to participate in the expert committees formed by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, and ensuring their quality to pursue full e-learning, distance learning, and blended learning in Jordanian higher education institutions.
