“Amman Arab University” Holds the First Aviation Sciences and the Seventh Robotics Conference
Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Amman Arab University, in cooperation with the Arab Society for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, held the activities of the First Aviation Sciences and the Seventh Conference on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in person at the Amman Arab University.
Engineer Lama Arabiyat, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, opened the conference activities on behalf of Al-Hanandah. During her opening speech, she emphasized the rapid technological revolution the world is currently witnessing and the importance of keeping pace with these rapid developments in the world of artificial intelligence. Arabiyat also praised the efforts of Amman Arab University in creating new and advanced majors that keep pace with the labor market and are in line with the development that the world is witnessing in various fields.
In turn, the President of Amman Arab University / Chairman of the Conference, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, welcomed the attendees and participants and stated during his speech that the University has always organized such conferences based on its vision and mission, as holding of the first international conference in aviation sciences and the seventh on robots and artificial intelligence comes with a remarkable presence of (7) Arab countries in addition to the European Union through the ASPRO project supported by the Erasmus + program. The importance of holding it comes specifically in light of the digital movement the world is witnessing and an accelerating technological revolution that effectively contributes to the advancement of civil aviation sciences, robotics and artificial intelligence through continuous development in their scientific and practical aspects ,as the world approaches the fifth industrial revolution, which focuses on technical machines in completing work, which contributes to creating a qualitative transition in human civilization, as the world is expected to witness a digital transformation in all its fields, and with the expanding use of the Internet as an electronic means in the field of aviation and artificial intelligence.
Prof.Al-Widyan pointed out that Amman Arab University took advanced steps and established the College of Aviation Sciences, which is the first in the Middle East region, as it grants bachelor’s degrees in the majors of aircraft maintenance sciences and avionics sciences. It gained a good reputation locally and regionally until it has today become an attractive destination that attracts many Arab students, in addition to being accredited by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and academically accredited by (AABI).
The Dean of the College of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, stressed during his speech that the world of aviation and artificial intelligence is renewed and growing day after day, with great acceleration and wide spread, and it was necessary to keep pace with its developments and catch up with the developed countries in it, so the idea of this conference came to be organized by Amman Arab University / College of Aviation Sciences, in cooperation with the Arab Society for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, to achieve the University’s vision and deliver its mission in serving scientific issues and technical innovations at all local, regional and global levels, in order to serve the goals of sustainable development through developing a distinguished Arab industry in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, and keeping pace with the latest developments in Aviation Sciences and encouraging scientific and practical thinking trends in these areas.
On the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition was held in which well-established national institutions in the field of aviation sciences, robotics and artificial intelligence participated to showcase the distinguished potential of these institutions in these fields, in addition to a number of advanced courses in artificial intelligence and robotics.
