College of Sharia Implements Third Competition for Memorizing the Entire Holy Qur’an at “Amman Arab University”

College of Sharia at Amman Arab University held the closing ceremony of the third Competition (Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Competition, may God be pleased with him) at the level of public and private Jordanian universities for memorizing the entire Qur’an, in the presence of the President of Amman Arab University, Professor. Mohamad Al-Widyan, and Mr. Tawfiq Al-Abadi, representing the sponsor of the ceremony and the engineer. Dawoud Al-Asousi from State of Kuwait, Professor. Ismail Yamin, Assistant President for Academic Affairs, and a number of members of the academic and administrative staff at the University.

In this regard, Prof. Al-Widyan said that people of the Qur’an and its memorizers are the group to whom the Sharia has attested to their exaltation and status, and about whom the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said in the noble hadith: “The people of the Qur’an are the people of God and His special ones,” and that this honor comes as a continuation of the charitable activities provided by the College of Sharia at Amman Arab University for the third year in a row, and we always emphasize our support for such events and activities that contribute to disseminating our culture and raising society’s values and morals.

For his part, Dr. Bilal Abu Qaddoum, Dean of the College of Sharia, said that more than 85 male and female students from 20 universities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan competed in this competition after the students were filtered by their universities. 12 students qualified for the finals, 6 from the male category and 6 from the female category. He stressed the progress of the College of Sharia at Amman Arab University with the financial and moral support of the university administration for the work of these distinguished pioneering competitions. He stressed that Amman Arab University, the University of Leadership and Excellence, is concluding its third Qur’anic competitions, and confirming its continued support of these activities that contribute to building a generation that carries in its heart the valuesof the Holy Qur’an, and the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

At the end of the ceremony, the results of the competition were announced, which resulted in the victory of: Student Omar Aziziyeh from the University of Jordan in first place in the male category, and student Shahad Al-Shafi’i from Al-Hussein University in first place in the female category. The competition was characterized by a high level of dedication and performance, according to what was reported. It is noteworthy that the prizes were distributed as follows:
