A Student from "Amman Arab University" Wins First Place in the (Climate Change Hackathon)

Amman- Student Ilham Al-Taie from the College of Computer Sciences and Informatics at Amman Arab University won first place from the FarmJo project team in the “Climate Change Hackathon” within the Zain Innovation Platform Zinc, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the World Food Program (WFP). Moreover, the CEO of “Zain” Jordan, Fahad Al-Jassem, honored those responsible for managing the project, namely the student Ilham Al-Taie, Yahya Al-Taei and Naim Al-Manaseer, and later, support agreements will be signed, so that the project will join the list of projects and startups supported by the “Zain” innovation platform.

The FarmJo project aims to find an innovative solution to the challenges facing Jordan in the fields of agriculture to achieve food security and preserve the green environment through the creation of an application and a website that displays and market agricultural crops without market mediation and provides everything the farmer needs by marketing his product, reducing costs, increasing production and providing Effort and time, and another goal of the project is to reduce unemployment and employ two hundred employees and workers in many fields, including agricultural, technical, packaging and transportation.

On this occasion, the Dean of the College, Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, indicated that the College began more than two years ago to develop and implement plans to qualify students for the labor market through the transformation of project-based learning and the use of modern education strategies
