The Opening of a Professional Diploma Program Supervised by Amman Arab University with the Support of the European Union
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, a vocational training diploma program in the field of electric and hybrid cars was opened for a period of four months. The program includes technical theoretical training and practical and field application on the maintenance of electric and hybrid cars, in addition to familiarization with all systems and parts of these cars and methods of disassembly and installation examination and fault diagnosis implemented by the university in cooperation with the Technical Academy for Vocational Training.
Dr. Al-Widyan stressed the importance of training diplomas to meet the needs of the labor market and to provide job opportunities for young people, as it works to bridge a participatory relationship with all sectors of the local community, based on the labor market's needs of scarce professions and technical disciplines.
In addition to the technical aspects, the program includes the development of general skills required by the local market, such as: communication, presentation and marketing skills, principles of the English language and other skills that help the student engage in the labor market. At the end of the program, the student receives a training certificate certified and approved by the Skills Development Authority. Professional and technical, which is an independent body headed by the Minister of Labor, in addition to a certificate of practicing the profession (skilled level) for those who complete the training program and spend at least two months in the field application and succeed in the license to practice the profession that qualifies the holder to practice.
It is noteworthy that this diploma was won by the university with the support of the Syrian-Jordanian Education Program (EDU-SYRIA/EDU- JORDAN) for Syrian refugees and Jordanian youth beneficiaries of charitable support institutions, funded by the European Union through the Regional Trust Fund U Madad in response to the Syrian crisis, and managed by the Nuffic Foundation To give young people the opportunity to pursue higher education (bachelor and master), vocational education or technical training to engage in the labor market. It is noteworthy that Amman Arab University has recently made qualitative progress in obtaining projects supported by the European Union and other funding bodies.
