Amman Arab University Participates in Jadara University Private Universities Obstacles to Investment in Education
Vice President for Academic Affairs, as a representative of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amman Arab University, Eng. Ahmed Al-Khaled, participated in the consultative meeting, which was organized by the kind invitation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jadara University, Dr. Shukri Marashda, at Jadara University. The meeting was attended by heads of boards of directors and directors' bodies in Jordanian private universities, to discuss obstacles to investment in education, and the most important issues and challenges facing private universities in Jordan.
Prof. Al-Tarawneh presented a number of challenges and suggested solutions to them, most notably: the expansion and excessive inflation in admissions, exceptions and the provision of many facilities for the benefit of public universities at the expense of admissions to private universities, the most important of which is the parallel policy of public universities, the negative view of private universities as universities that seek only to achieve Revenue , knowing that they are national universities that provide the community with high-level contributions and services, and that any private universities are a strategic partner and an active member of the system of reforming higher education and scientific research in Jordan. Among the challenges presented by Prof. Al-Tarawneh is questioning the reliability and reliability of the outputs of Jordanian universities from external parties, without moving a finger on the subject.
The participants agreed on the need to demand equality between private and public universities, the need to apply accreditation standards to private and public universities fairly, the need for a real and logical representation of private universities in the Higher Education Council and its various committees, and also agreed on the need for an association of private universities.
