Amman Arab University Participates in the “ Ivestment Mechanisms in Higher Education

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Oweidat, a faculty member at the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences at Amman Arab University, participated in the activities of the dialogue session organized by the Tomouat Foundation for Capacity Development, in partnership with the We Are All Jordan Youth Authority, the youth arm of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, on investment mechanisms in higher education  and ways of development.

Professor . Oweidat stressed the need to invest in university youth and empower them with knowledge and skills, and to involve them in various decisions related to development, given that the future is entirely related to youth and that they are best able to understand changes, identify their needs, and formulate programs aimed at meeting their goals and aspirations.

Owaidat indicated that the majority of students were forced to study majors imposed by the laws and instructions in force in the foundations of admission, and social factors that determined the student to choose a major without taking into account  desires of the student , stressing that this created a situation of low level of creativity and excellence.

He reviewed the stages of development of higher education in Jordan since the establishment of the state, stressing that we passed through periods of time when we were able to lead education in the region, and we became the educational reference for many countries that were racing to attract the outputs of Jordanian universities and institutes.
