Students of Computer Science and Informatics Participate in Local and International Competitions in Cybersecurity
As part of Amman Arab University’s endeavor to provide its students with various experiences and skills and support their participation in local, regional and international events and competitions, students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics at Amman Arab University participated in the Zain platform Capture The Flag (CTF) for Cyber Security competition for the first time in the Arab world and North Africa. The competition, which was held online, lasted for two days, with the participation of about 700 students distributed among 394 teams from 17 Arab countries: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Lebanon, Morocco, Sultanate of Oman, and Palestine, Qatar, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, and Kuwait. The University’s participation in the V1KING team was represented by the student (Yazan Saleh), the student (Tarek Joudeh), the student (Wadih Haddad) and the student (Saadi Ashlaq), who achieved an advanced position in the competition.
The Faculty also participated in the T3N4CIOUS open competition around the world through the B1NG0 team, which presented an outstanding performance, ranking 20 out of 604 teams. It is noteworthy that the Faculty seeks, through these competitions, to develop the applied students’ skills in the fields of cybersecurity and network protection, acquire new skills in the field of information security, and stimulate creativity, analysis and problem-solving skills among Cyber Security Cyber Security students.
