Branch of the American Society of Energy Engineers at "Amman Arab University"
Organizes its First Meeting and Sets its Quarterly Plan The student branch of the Society of Energy Engineers (AEE) at Amman Arab University organized its first meeting after its affiliation with the association at the beginning of the current year 2022, in the presence of the former president of the association, Eng. Samer Al-Zawaideh, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Omar Asaad, the head of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, Dr. Ahmed Handim, and the supervisor of the students of the branch, Dr. Muhammad Ismail .
Eng. Samer gave a presentation at the beginning about the importance of the Society of Energy Engineers for students and alumni, which was established in 1977 and includes more than 18,000 members in more than 100 countries in promoting the scientific and practical interests of workers in the energy sector and providing a number of specialized and internationally accredited training courses for students and engineers, and forming a link among students , employers and workers in the sector.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed on the branch’s quarterly plan, which will be a top priority to communicate with industry specialists by organizing events that host specialists and experts in the field of energy, field visits, and building scientific knowledge for students by attending AEE conferences and monthly seminars.
The branch is also preparing to compete in competitions organized by the Society of Energy Engineers among the branches and apply for scholarships for the master's and doctoral programs.
It is noteworthy that the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering at Amman Arab University began receiving students at the beginning of the academic year 2020/2021, to meet Jordan’s needs for skilled engineering cadres in the renewable energy engineering sectors, and serve the needs of the labor market that come within the University’s strategic plan and its future vision in opening modern engineering disciplines serving the needs of the local and Arab labor market.
