The Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University organized a lecture on the role of the clinical pharmacist in enhancing healthcare at Hamad Hospital

Dr. Rana Abouhweij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Amman Arabic University, hosted Dr. Rania Mustafa, Assistant Professor at Qatar University and Assistant Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department at Hamad Hospital, Qatar, for an online applied lecture titled “The Role of the Clinical Pharmacist in Enhancing Healthcare at Hamad Hospital.” This lecture was part of the Pharmaceutical Field Training 2 course, supervised by Professor Mai Al-Hawamdeh.

Dr. Rania Mustafa discussed the clinical pharmacist’s role in improving healthcare, especially in managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and metabolic syndrome. She also shared her practical experience at Hamad General Hospital, focusing on her vital role in the internal medicine and hematology clinics.

The session was highly interactive, with students expressing great benefit from the fruitful discussions and valuable information presented. They emphasized that such events effectively enhance their understanding of the clinical pharmacist’s role as an essential member of the medical team. These experiences also helped them gain a comprehensive view of how to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical work environments. The students noted that this practical experience prepares them better to face challenges in clinical pharmacy and develop their skills in line with the demands of the modern job market.
