Information Technology Students at Amman Arab University (AAU) Visit the National Center for Software Quality Assurance

As part of Amman Arab University's ongoing efforts to enhance practical learning and align educational outcomes with labor market needs, the College of Information Technology organized a field visit to the National Center for Software Quality Assurance (NCQA). The visit included collage members and students, who were welcomed by Eng. Thaer Mustafa, the center's director, along with several members of the center's staff.

Engineer Mustafa began by welcoming the attendees and opening the meeting with a comprehensive presentation. He outlined the pivotal role of the NCQA as a neutral national body responsible for software quality assurance. He also detailed the services the center provides to both the public and private sectors, in accordance with the latest international standards.

The presentation covered the center's operational procedures for interacting with clients, from receiving software systems through testing and evaluation processes to preparing technical reports that identify gaps and observations. This process relies on precise and internationally recognized standards. He further addressed the major challenges facing the software sector, including keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and enhancing user experience and system interaction.

The center's team then presented its training programs in software testing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. They also introduced internationally recognized professional certifications, such as ISTQB, along with relevant ISO standards, which contribute to enhancing the efficiency and qualifications of technical personnel to meet labor market demands.

The meeting featured a fruitful discussion on prospects for cooperation between the center and academic institutions. Emphasis was placed on the importance of providing students and faculty members with exposure to the latest technological advancements and enhancing practical training based on the application of international quality standards. These standards can be adapted to meet the needs of beneficiaries.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation from the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University toured the center's departments. The delegation included Dr. Belal Khater and Dr. Ala Abuthawabeh, along with students Laith Haddad and Lin Fayyad. The tour encompassed the software testing department and the information security testing department, where participants observed the work environment and the adopted testing and evaluation mechanisms. This provided them with a valuable opportunity to learn about practical applications in this field.

Dr. Rami Sihwail Dean of the College of Information Technology at Amman Arab University affirmed that this visit reflects the college's commitment to engaging with specialized national institutions and strengthening partnerships that contribute to developing students' practical skills. He stressed the importance of integrating theoretical and practical aspects to keep pace with labor market demands and rapid advancements in information technology.

This visit comes as part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with national institutions, contributing to the development of students’ skills, increasing their readiness for the labor market, and enhancing the overall quality of the educational process.
