Faculty of Information Technology at "Amman Arab" (AAU) Participates in the Second International Conference titled "Universities and Artificial Intelligence Technology"

The Faculty of Information Technology at Amman Arab University participated in the proceedings of the second international conference titled "Universities and Artificial Intelligence Technology: How AI is Reshaping the Future of Higher Education". The conference was held at the Landmark Hotel in Amman, organized by the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), in cooperation with the Chinese Universities Association and a number of international academic institutions.

Representing the President of Amman Arab University, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, the University was represented at the conference by Dr. Rami Sehwail, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, alongside the participation of four students from the Faculty: Al-Anoud Al-Qawasmeh, Ru'a Washah, Ahmad Zakaria, and Sandos Kayali.

The conference sessions addressed the transformations that higher education is undergoing due to AI technologies, and how these technologies are reshaping the future of education and university governance amidst the rapidly accelerating digital revolution. The sessions also included a range of specialized scientific themes, most notably: the employment of AI in sustainable education, the role of virtual reality and natural language processing in developing teaching and learning methods, issues of quality and professional development for academic leadership, and managing digital transformation in universities. In a session on "AI for Cybersecurity," speakers discussed the importance of enhancing the security of smart educational systems and ensuring data protection and privacy, in addition to touching upon ethical aspects related to AI, such as algorithmic bias and digital responsibility.

Dr. Sehwail emphasized Amman Arab University's keenness to actively participate in international conferences concerned with exchanging expertise and transferring knowledge to the academic field, given its role in achieving sustainable development goals, praising the distinguished participation of the Faculty's students and their role in disseminating a culture of scientific research and applying theoretical knowledge practically. For their part, the participating students expressed their pride in this valuable scientific experience, which provided them with the opportunity to learn about the latest global research and trends in the fields of AI and cybersecurity. They affirmed that participation in such events contributes to enhancing their research and applied skills and broadening their horizons towards innovation.

This participation falls within the strategy of Amman Arab University aimed at enabling its students to engage in international academic events and promoting leadership in technical thought and scientific research, keeping pace with the rapid developments in the age of AI and digital transformation.
