Demonstrating Amman Arab University's commitment to academic excellence and preparing students capable of competing in legal fields locally and internationally, the College of Law has achieved a distinguished academic accomplishment by winning first place in the Moot Court Competition on Cybercrimes. The competition was organized by the Information and Research Center - King Hussein Foundation, in partnership with the Canadian organization SecDev and the IDRC, with the participation of a number of law faculties from various Jordanian public and private universities, including: Amman Arab University, The University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, Jadara University, and Al-Zarqa Private University.
The team from the College of Law at Amman Arab University, trained by Dr. Murad Al-Qaddah, a faculty member in the College, and comprising students: Aya Al-Hamzah, Yazan Al-Harahsheh, Aminah Al-Sha'ar, Baysan Al-Bishawi, and Nadeen Abu Hdeeb, excelled throughout the competition stages. Their performance was marked by mastery in legal pleadings and judicial analysis, along with precision in constructing arguments and employing legislative texts. This earned them superiority over the participating teams and rightfully qualified them for the first place.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Thunaybat, Dean of the College of Law at Amman Arab University, indicated that this achievement reflects the fruit of the continuous efforts exerted by the College in developing the educational process and the practical training of its students. He emphasized the College's keenness to enable students to possess advanced legal skills that qualify them to confidently and competently engage in national and international competitions, noting that this win embodies the University's vision of leadership and academic excellence.
For his part, Dr. Sultan Al-Atiyat, Head of the Law Department at the University, expressed his pride in this achievement, stressing that the win reflects the quality of legal education provided by the College and its commitment to honing students' skills and preparing them to compete in national and international arenas. This is achieved through integrating theoretical aspects with practical application and providing a stimulating educational environment that contributes to preparing students with legal competence and the ability to excel in the job market.
Dr. Al-Qaddah pointed out that this achievement would not have been possible without the continuous support from the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Thunaybat, the Head of the Law Department, Dr. Sultan Al-Atiyat, and Dr. Mohammad Al-Shahin for his efforts in administrative organization and arrangement, alongside all the faculty members in the College whose guidance and support enabled the team to achieve this honorable success, which reflects the spirit of cooperation and teamwork within the College.
It is noteworthy that the Moot Court Competition is one of the most prominent academic activities in law faculties at Jordanian universities. It aims to enhance students' skills in advocacy, legal research, and judicial analysis within an atmosphere that simulates the practical reality of the legal and judicial professions, thus contributing to the preparation of a competent legal generation capable of serving justice and society.
