College of Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University Holds Workshop on "Drug Prevention Between Chemistry and Law"
Under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and with the support of Dr. Muteb Al-Utaibi, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, the college organized a workshop titled "Drug Prevention Between Chemistry and Law." The event aimed to raise awareness about the chemical, health, and societal effects of drug abuse, featuring presentations by Dr. Mervat Sammor and Mr. Farhan Al-Husban, faculty members from the Department of Basic Sciences (Humanities and Scientific).
The workshop sought to prevent addiction by increasing awareness of risks and clarifying the health, psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug use. It also emphasized the role of society and families in building strong communities and encouraged organizing awareness-raising activities that provide healthy alternatives for youth.
Dr. Sammor addressed the chemical and health effects of drugs, while Mr. Al-Husban discussed their legal and societal impacts. This initiative is part of a series of extracurricular activities through which Amman Arab University seeks to enhance student awareness, positively impacting the university environment and society.
