Civil Engineering Students at Amman Arab University Gain Hands-On Experience in Construction Project Phases
As part of Amman Arab University's commitment to bridging academic outcomes with labor market needs and enhancing students' academic and practical skills, civil engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering conducted a field visit to the construction sites of Buildings (F) and (H) within the university campus. The visit was organized under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, University President, and the continuous follow-up of Dr. Anwar Al-Asaaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, with supervision by Dr. Dr Mohammad Alma'aitah and Engineer Mona Al-Momani, alongside a team of civil engineering project supervisors.
The visit aimed to familiarize students with the real-world stages of structural project execution. They closely observed the implementation of concrete structures, reinforcement of columns and floors, and the techniques used in wall construction—all in compliance with technical and engineering standards.
During the tour, students learned about the components of both buildings. Building (F) is designed to include parking spaces, classrooms, and scientific laboratories, while Building (H) will house offices for faculty and administrative staff, along with multi-level parking. The resident engineers provided detailed explanations of the construction phases and the technical requirements to be considered during implementation. This allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, deepening their understanding of on-site engineering practices.
The two new buildings represent a significant expansion for Amman Arab University, adding approximately 25,000 square meters of construction to the campus.
