In line with Amman Arab University's commitment to fostering communication between students and alumni and facilitating the exchange of practical expertise, under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of the University, and with the support of Dr. Malik Al-Salem Al-Anaqrah, Dean of the College of Aviation Sciences, the college hosted graduate Engineer Atef Abu Sahyon to deliver a specialized lecture titled "Preparing Aviation Sciences Students and Graduates to Enhance Lifelong Learning Skills in Preparation for the Job Market and Graduate Studies."
The lecture was attended by Dr. Malik Al-Salem Al-Anaqrah, Dean of the College of Aviation Sciences, Dr. Bilal Jarrah, Head of the Aircraft Maintenance Department, along with a number of faculty members and students from the department.
The lecture highlighted the key challenges facing aviation students that impact their employment opportunities and academic advancement. Emphasis was placed on the critical importance of obtaining internationally recognized aviation licenses, which serve as essential requirements for expanding students' prospects in both local and global job markets. These licenses also enhance professional competence and readiness for the global aviation industry. Additionally, the lecture underscored the vital role of practical training programs and workshops in developing students' skills, refining their expertise, and effectively preparing them for future career demands—boosting their chances of securing prestigious jobs or pursuing higher education at esteemed academic institutions.
The session saw active engagement from students, who raised questions and inquiries regarding the significance of international licenses, the issuing authorities, application procedures, and how to craft a professional resume that highlights their academic qualifications and practical skills in line with aviation industry standards. Engineer Abu Sahyon addressed their questions, providing practical guidance based on his field experience, helping students understand potential career paths and take clear steps toward self-improvement—enhancing both their academic and professional readiness.
This initiative is part of a series of meetings organized by the College of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University with alumni, aimed at bridging academic knowledge with practical applications and broadening students' horizons across various fields.
