Arts and Sciences at Amman Arab University Celebrates World Environment Day Through Volunteer Work at Al Ma'wa Wildlife Sanctuary

In alignment with the directives of Professor Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and under the support of Dr. Muteb Al-Otaibi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the faculty organized a visit to Al Ma'wa Wildlife and Nature Sanctuary to mark World Environment Day – the largest global occasion for environmental awareness, observed by millions worldwide.

The visit included Dr. Lina Al-Jarrah, Head of the Department of Basic Humanities and Scientific Sciences; Dr. Mohammad Abdullatif Al-Samadi; Mr. Farhan Al-Husban; and Mr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Samadi, faculty members at the College of Arts and Sciences, alongside a group of students. Volunteers conducted environmental activities, most notably cleaning the sanctuary’s forest, demonstrating the commitment of students and faculty to environmental protection. Participants also toured the sanctuary’s facilities, learning about its role in sheltering animals affected by wars and illegal trafficking, alongside its contributions to preserving ecological diversity and safeguarding Jordan’s natural and cultural heritage.

This initiative forms part of Amman Arab University’s series of extracurricular activities aimed at enhancing students’ environmental awareness and affirming the institution’s role in serving society and the environment.
