
"Amman Arab University (AAU) Pharmacy Showcases Its Experience with MyDispense at an International Conference in Italy"
Within the framework of the joint cooperation between Amman Arab University and Monash University Australia, the College of Pharmacy participated in the activities of the international conference organized by Monash University in Italy. The university was represented by Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of Pharmacy, and Dr. May Al Hawamdeh, Head of the Field Training Committee and a faculty member in the College of Pharmacy.
The participation involved presenting two research papers that discussed the experience of implementing the virtual program (MyDispense) in the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University. This program is one of the most prominent educational tools in the field of clinical pharmacy. It is developed in collaboration with Monash University Australia and is used globally to simulate the pharmaceutical work environment, allowing students to train in dispensing medications and communicating with patients within a safe and interactive setting.
Dr. Abu Huwaij presented the first research paper, in which she discussed the importance of using (MyDispense) as a tool for assessing students in clinical courses, the increasing student engagement with it, and its positive impact on developing their clinical skills and enhancing their ability to make accurate professional decisions.
On the other hand, Dr. Al Hawamdeh presented the second research paper, which focused on the program's role in supporting the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). She explained how it contributed to preparing systematic clinical assessment scenarios that effectively measure students' practical and cognitive performance.
This participation reflects the commitment of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University to adopting the latest technological innovations in the fields of education and assessment. It also underscores the university's dedication to supporting its academic staff in actively participating in international forums, aligning with its vision of academic excellence and continuous development.
