
Amman Arab University Hosts His Excellency Dr. Hayel Daoud for Lecture on "The Virtue of the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah"
Demonstrating its commitment to fostering religious awareness and promoting moderate Islamic values among students, Amman Arab University's Faculty of Islamic Sharia hosted His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hayel Abdulhafez Daoud, former Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, for a lecture titled "The Best Days of the Year (Journey to Liberation)." The event, held in anticipation of the sacred first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, was patronized by University President Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Weidyan and attended by Prof. Dr. Ismail Yamin, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Bilal Abu Qadoum, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sharia; faculty members; administrative staff; and students.
Ms. Nadia Al-Qadimat, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, received His Excellency Dr. Daoud in her office, noting the university's pride in hosting prominent religious and scholarly figures who enrich cultural discourse and reinforce moderate religious values among students. This event reflects the university's ongoing efforts to cultivate an integrated educational environment that harmonizes knowledge with faith while fostering constructive dialogue to promote a balanced understanding of Islam.
Dr. Daoud began by extending Independence Day congratulations to His Majesty King Abdullah II, expressing pride in Jordan's national achievements under His Majesty's wise leadership. During the lecture, moderated by Dean Abu Qadoum, he emphasized adherence to moderate Islamic principles and the significance of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah—describing them as a pinnacle period for worship where good deeds (including fasting, charity, supplication, and Hajj rituals) are multiplied in reward. He highlighted that maximizing worship during these days strengthens piety and spiritual connection with Allah.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion where attendees explored practical ways to benefit from these sacred days, adding profound spiritual and intellectual dimensions to the dialogue. In recognition of his contributions, Prof. Dr. Ismail Yamin and Dean Abu Qadoum presented His Excellency Dr. Daoud with a commemorative shield on behalf of President Al- Widyan, honoring his role in this enlightening cultural and religious event that underscored the elevated status of these days in Islam.
