Amman Arab University Enhances Education Development by Participating in Dual Studies Curriculum with European Expertise

As part of its ongoing efforts to develop academic curricula and adopt the latest educational methodologies, Amman Arab University participated in a specialized workshop organized by the Erasmus+ National Office titled "The European Union’s Experience in Designing Dual Studies Curricula." The two-day workshop, held at Al Hussein Technical University, was attended by representatives from Amman Arab University, including Dr. Mohammed Sehwail, Director of the International Office and External Relations; Prof. Dr. Rana Abu Huwaij, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Chair of the University’s Curriculum Committee; and Dr. Ahmed Al-Baloush, Director of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center. The event also featured participation from local and international experts.

The workshop focused on discussing the methodology of designing educational programs under the "Dual Studies" model, which integrates theoretical academic learning with hands-on practical training in workplace settings. German expert Dr. Wolfgang Frohberg delivered a detailed presentation on the mechanisms of this model, ensuring that 50% of the program is implemented as practical training outside classrooms in various work environments. The model also includes evaluation methods to ensure students apply their skills and acquire the competencies required for their academic qualifications.

Participants emphasized the importance of exchanging successful international experiences and expertise in curriculum development to enhance education quality and equip students with the skills demanded by local and global labor markets. This workshop is part of a series of activities and meetings in which Amman Arab University engages to benefit from advanced European educational models and adapt them to the specific context of education in Jordan.
