"Amman Arab University Engineering Launches Interactive Community Initiative and Workshop in Al-Sabila Schools to Promote Color Psychology Among Elementary Students"
As part of Amman Arab University’s commitment to social responsibility and under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of the University, and with the support of Dr. Anwar Al-Asaaf, Dean of the College of Engineering, the college launched a unique community initiative in Al-Sabila schools targeting elementary students. The visit included a workshop on the "Concept of Color Psychology," supervised by Engineer Mariam Al-Mashaikh, Engineer Ola Habash, and Engineer Farah Rumanah from the College of Engineering, with the participation of second-year Architecture Engineering students.
This initiative embodied the university’s vision of integrating academic knowledge with purposeful interactive activities, offering a series of events that enhance the understanding of colors and color harmony in a creative and engaging manner. The activities included motivational competitions and various artistic exercises, such as face painting with colors and glitter, which created an atmosphere of joy and positive interaction among students. Additionally, educational contests focused on the theme of "The Power and Shades of Color," allowing students to explore the psychological and aesthetic effects of colors while linking them to simple yet inspiring scientific concepts. The initiative received enthusiastic engagement from students, fostering their artistic and cognitive skills and reinforcing a love for learning through experimentation and innovation.
Representatives from the College of Engineering at Amman Arab University explained to students how colors can enhance creativity, improve concentration, and promote psychological balance. The workshop also addressed how to choose appropriate colors for different spaces, such as schools and homes, to create environments that enhance academic and personal quality of life.
This event is part of a series of qualitative initiatives planned by the Department of Architecture at Amman Arab University, aiming to build effective bridges between the university and the local community. By leveraging architecture as a tool to raise aesthetic and cultural awareness among younger generations, the department seeks to instill concepts of visual identity rooted in Jordan’s architectural and civilizational heritage. Through these initiatives, the department also encourages students to engage in community activities that reflect their role as designers and innovators in serving their surroundings.
