Al-Jazi Patronizes Ceremony for Amman Arab University's (AAU) Twenty-Fifth Graduating Class
Amid an atmosphere of pride and honor, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Omar Mashhour Al-Jazy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Amman Arab University, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University; Professor Dr. Ismail Yamin, Assistant President for Academic Affairs; Professor Dr. Husam Al-Hamad, Assistant President for Planning and Quality Assurance; and Ms. Nadia Al-Qadimat, Assistant President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Amman Arab University celebrated the graduation of its twenty-fifth cohort. The ceremony, held at the University of Jordan, featured an outstanding group of graduates from within Jordan and international students from various sisterly and friendly countries, forming an academic and cultural mosaic reflecting the university's advanced regional standing.
Dr. Al-Jazy commenced his speech by congratulating the graduating students, expressing his pride in this occasion marking a bright milestone in the university's journey. He emphasized that graduation is one of the happiest moments etched in human memory, representing the fruit of diligence and the beginning of a new path toward a bright future. He added, "Today, our sons and daughters, armed with knowledge, pack your belongings and depart your university to confidently embark upon the fields of practical life." He praised the efforts exerted by Amman Arab University over a quarter-century, making it a model for higher education and earning prestigious positions in local and international rankings.
Al-Jazy affirmed that this academic achievement stemmed from the university's clear vision in developing academic programs, focusing on education quality, and aligning outcomes with the labor market. He stressed the university's pivotal role in providing national institutions with distinguished competencies and commended its high standing locally and internationally, achieved through unified efforts, institutional work, and the continuous support of the Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors, and the University Presidency. Addressing the parents, Dr. Al-Jazy conveyed a heartfelt message, appreciating their noble sacrifices and essential role in supporting their children throughout their academic journey: "This success would not have been accomplished without your prayers, patience, and sacrifices; you are partners in achievement and companions of the dream from its outset." He also stated that amidst this joy, hearts go out to steadfast Gaza and beloved Palestine, where heroism confronts injustice and where the free forge glory with patience and resilience, emphasizing that Palestine remains our foremost cause – not merely a wound but an honor and an unextinguished promise of victory. He affirmed Jerusalem will forever remain the heart of the nation and Amman Arab University’s commitment to its educational and national mission in preparing generations who carry the torch of knowledge and creativity under the wise Hashemite leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, may God protect and preserve him.
For his part, Dr. Al-Widyan expressed his joy at graduating this distinguished cohort in a year coinciding with the university's Silver Jubilee. He highlighted the university's continuous progress towards excellence and leadership, outlining key achievements of the academic year, including: establishing the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences; accrediting the Technical College set to commence teaching in 2025-2026; and introducing specialized programs meeting labor market demands. Dr. Al-Widyan clarified that the university achieved advanced positions in international rankings, securing first place in scientific research according to the QS World Rankings 2026; sixth place locally in the UniRank; 32nd place in the Arab world for digital presence; and first place among private universities and third among Jordanian universities in the Webometrics ranking, reflecting the quality of education and scientific research at the university.
Al-Widyan confirmed these accomplishments were made possible by the continuous support of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees, commending the presence of Engineer Ahmad Al-Khalid, Chairman of the Board of Directors from the sisterly State of Kuwait, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Ansari, Board of Trustees member from the sisterly State of Qatar. He congratulated the students and their families, urging graduates to be instruments of construction, action, and ambassadors for their university, carrying its message and values everywhere.
Dr. Mohammed Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, affirmed that Amman Arab University was not merely a vessel of knowledge but a warm home, a space for dreams, and a workshop for building character. It embraced its students for years, nourished them with knowledge, and believed in their potential until they reached this shining moment. He noted the university's dedication to shaping students intellectually and humanely, instilling values of belonging, responsibility, and leadership, preparing them to be active contributors in their societies and influential in their homelands. He confirmed that graduates now move from the fields of knowledge to the fields of work, carrying tools of change, hearts aflame with hope, and minds enriched with knowledge. He praised the role of their esteemed professors and the graduates' families, urging graduates to be symbols of the future and ambassadors of their university, carrying its name with pride and continuing their journey with confident steps and strong will.
Graduate Samira Al-Duwaik, speaking on behalf of her fellow graduates, expressed profound pride and gratitude on this day crowning years of struggle and diligence, marking a pivotal moment in their academic and human journey. She emphasized that Amman Arab University was not just an academic institution but a warm home and safe haven that embraced their ambitions, shaped their future, and instilled in them values of belonging, determination, and responsibility. She extended thanks to her professors who believed in the students' abilities and to the parents who silently and devotedly supported them until this crowning moment. Al-Duwaik concluded by affirming this day is a beginning, not an end, and a promise, not a farewell, calling on her colleagues to be builders of the nation's future under the triumphant Hashemite leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, may God protect and preserve him.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, which was hosted by university graduate Mr. Abdul Rahman Salama, Dr. Omar Al-Jazy and Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan presented certificates to the graduating students along with appreciation awards to the top achievers.
