To keep pace with developments in the field of medical care and its comprehensive applications, the Department of Laboratory Medical Sciences is opened.
Thanks to God, to begin as a first development stage and a focal point in developing other applied medical professions programs, under the cover of the Applied Medical Sciences College.
According to the strategic plan of the Amman Arab university and their college, the department will work with renewed effort and great enthusiasm to use the latest advanced academic tools and education methods in scientific curricula, for seeking the best national and international expertise to improve educational outcomes, as well as using the best technical methods in medical training in accordance with its vision, mission and desired goals, under the supervision of distinguished selected group members and human cadres in all fields.
Finally, I thank everyone who visited the college’s website, specifically, the Department of Laboratory Medical Sciences, for viewing its distinguished program. Wishing our students continued success in their educational and professional careers.
Dr. Bilal Al-Shomali
Acting Head of Medical Laboratory Sciences Department
Stemming from Amman Arab University's commitment to meeting the demands of vital sectors and supplying them with qualified professionals, the university proudly offers advanced academic programs within its Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences. Prominent among these are the Medical Laboratory Sciences program and the pioneering Bioinformatics program.
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University welcomed its inaugural cohort at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year. This program aims to prepare qualified medical personnel capable of providing the highest standards of comprehensive diagnostic care, thereby supporting the healthcare system locally, regionally, and internationally. The program received special accreditation from the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (HEAC) in early October 2024, affirming its commitment to the highest academic and professional quality standards.
Furthermore, the University has launched a Bachelor of Science (BSc) program in Bioinformatics, the first of its kind in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the region. This program represents a significant advancement by integrating life sciences with advanced computational techniques and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for handling large-scale biological data. It aims to produce specialists capable of analyzing this data and supporting scientific and medical discoveries, serving as a vital resource for the health, research, and industrial sectors.
Both programs operate under the direct supervision of a distinguished group of academic and technical staff possessing extensive experience and high qualifications in their respective fields. This ensures integration and guarantees the delivery of an outstanding educational and research experience
